AGTTGP-NA SPONSORS MEDICAL OUTREACH PROGRAM IN KUBORI, GHANA

As part of our mission to support and conduct charitable health and education activities in underdeveloped communities, AGTTGP-NA collaborated with IDBGA-GH to conduct a medical outreach program in the village of Kubori, a rural community in the West Mamprusi District in Northern Region of Ghana. The village of Kubori and its surrounding communities are deprived, normally inaccessible by road in the rainy season, have no access to doctors, and travel to the nearest hospital in the town of Walewale can take up to 3 hours during the rainy season. AGTTGP-NA donated an amount of $2,000 in support of a medical outreach program.

On November 23, 2013, a team of 12 members of IDBGA-GH including seven health professional and five non-health professionals arrived at Kubori, a small town in the Northern Region of Ghana that was judged to deserve much attention and provided medical services. The services provided were mainly general screening, consultation treatment of various illnesses and a few surgical interventions. The team was supported by the District Health Director, his team and the chief of the community. Patients who needed referral to hospitals for further review and management were given referral letters and encouraged to do so. A total of 400 patients were seen.
